Drive-thru coffee shops are popping up all over the country. People want hot coffee fast and the Texas Hill Country is no stranger to seeing these small coffee shops call the region home. New Braunfels is now set to add another such coffee drive-thru spot
On the Grind is adding to its portfolio in New Braunfels, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing. The new location won’t begin construction until the new year starts. The information from TDLR is subject to change.
The expected construction start date is January 15, 2024, with a roughly four-month build-out. The scope of the work includes a “new stand-alone drive-thru coffee kiosk.” An estimated completion date is listed as May 1, 2024, according to the filing.
Development of the 639-square-foot drive-thru coffee spot will cost roughly $125,000. The new location will be located at 1487 S. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130, according to the filing.
On The Grind serves coffees, flavored energy drinks, lemonades, real fruit smoothies, and more, according to the On the Grind website.
New Braunfels has five locations in town. There are 14 total locations right now for the coffee company. New Braunfels isn’t the only Texas Hill Country town seeing On the Grind growing. The chain is also pushing up north of the I-35 corridor into San Marcos, according to a MySA report. The San Marcos coffee shop was expected to be completed in September 2023 and will be located at 1508 Aquarena Springs Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666.
