AUSTIN, TEXAS – Indie electronic duo Matt and Kim will headline Longhorn City Limits presented by Still Austin Whiskey on Saturday, November 4! The FREE game day concert, located on the LBJ Lawn, will take place immediately following the Texas Football versus K-State game. Austin-based Primo the Alien will take the stage pregame at 9 a.m.
Formed in 2004, Brooklyn duo Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino were quickly recognized for their thunder-punching, melodic mix of indie punk and dance. Their 2009 album Grand, certified gold by the RIAA, featured the hit songs “Daylight” and “Lessons Learned”, the latter winning Breakthrough Video Award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Matt and Kim have released six studio albums throughout their career including 2018’s Almost Everyday.
Matt and Kim are known as much as being a non-stop touring phenomenon as they are known for their infectious, beat-driven anthems and explosive live shows. They won the mtvU Woodie Award for “Best Live Performance”, have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sold out headlining tours across North America, and stole the show at multiple festivals including Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and more!
“We look forward to Longhorn Nation keeping the party going with another huge Longhorn City Limits crowd post game as we welcome Matt and Kim to the Forty Acres!” Vice President and Folgers Family Athletics Director Chris Del Conte said.
Joining Matt and Kim on the LCL lineup is indie pop artist and producer Primo the Alien. The ACL Festival and South by Southwest veteran, who writes and produces each song, released her four song EP We All Hate Ourselves Sometimes in Spring 2023. She became the inaugural performer on the world’s first 3D-printed stage. Her style defies the bounds of traditional genres, serving bold electro-pop drenched in otherworldly futurism with a nostalgic 80’s edge.
Matt and Kim will hit the LBJ Lawn following the conclusion of the Texas Football vs. K-State game. Primo the Alien will get the party started pregame from 9-10 a.m.
Fans ages 21 and up can enjoy signature experiences at Longhorn City Limits including the Still Austin Music Lounge beginning at 8 a.m. Serving up a full menu of refreshments including the Still Austin Horns Up Bourbon Lemonade on ice, the lounge provides relaxation in a shaded area while enjoying the show.
