Man killed in 3-vehicle crash in Hale County

A Marion man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Hale County Friday night, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.

Ja’Quan Brooks, 24, was critically injured when the 1998 Honda Accord he was driving struck a 2015 Honda Accord as he was re-entering the roadway. The 1998 Accord hit a 2001 International tractor-trailer after the first crash.

Brooks was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. on Alabama 69 near the 124 mile marker about six miles south of Moundville. Nothing further is available as the ALEA continues to investigate.
